This beautiful Thanksgiving weekend, I decided to enjoy the outdoor colors some more and try my hand at self portraiture. I have never tried it before and thought as an artist I should grow and explore. So that is just what I did and I was actually pleased with my results! Especially when Cash, our Collie, saw me setting up, he decided he must also be included as a model for this new project! He has the best personality and is so affectionate. It's really best that he is in my self portrait anyway (and of course the one I cherish the most is with him) because he is such a huge part of my life. He makes me happy.
I have been studying some fun and modern photographers and there's a challenge to do a self portrait about once a month. So, guess what, my wonderful blog readers? You might have to endure some crazy images of me and maybe Cash too! So except for the funny self portraits I did when I was doing headstands with daisies in my hair in highschool photography class, this is my first as a professional, and now that I am a diligent blogger, I am going to explore this fun and crazy project! Here you go, these are the results from our first try... (our? yes, mine and Cash's first try!) Let me know what you think! oh and try it yourself too! I challenge you all!!!

We would like to show you one of the beautiful images from our Autumn Princess sessions! Sorry you have had to wait so long for this gorgeous event. We have been waiting for the girls to see the images first and we always prefer that they choose their favorites and then we don't have to spoil their surprise! So here is one of all of our favorites, Mandi included. It is cropped two ways. The full length pose to show all of the environment around Mandi and then the close up to show some more details of her makeup and all of the colors so close behind her image. Mandi was such a trooper and is wonderful to work with "rain or shine" and rain it did on our chosen day!
If you look close you can see the rain drops on her gown! And maybe goosebumps too! Even with a cold, and not feeling her best, she posed like a true princess! Thank you Mandi, we love you and can't wait to debut Alaina's Autumn princess portraits, after she sees them next Tuesday!!!! xoxo
P.S. Keep in mind that this session was all about posing as if she IS an Autumn Princess from a storybook play! So use your best imagination to think of this style in a sort of theatrical theme. The makeup is dramatic and so is the artwork, with golds and yellows.... :) Peg
